New Delhi [India], March 25 (Media House): Omaxe Limited has introduced India's inaugural 'Pink Stand', named in honor of the captain of the Indian women's cricket team, Harmanpreet Kaur, at their new cricket stadium in Dwarka, Delhi, which boasts a capacity of 30,000 seats.
Harmanpreet Kaur's Reaction
During the launch event, Harmanpreet expressed her joy, stating, "I am feeling very good. The stand belongs to all the women. It is a great feeling. I thank Omaxe." This initiative aims to improve safety and comfort for female spectators, representing a significant advancement in promoting inclusivity within sports facilities in India.
Recent Achievements of the Women's Team
Harmanpreet recently guided the Indian women's team to their first ICC Women's Cricket World Cup title in November 2025, accumulating 260 runs across eight innings with an average of 32.50. Her pivotal 89 runs in the semi-final against Australia were crucial, and she also became the leading run-scorer in Women's ODI World Cup knockout matches with a total of 331 runs.
Upcoming Tours and Goals
Looking ahead, the Indian women's team is scheduled to visit South Africa next month for a five-match T20I series, followed by a three-match T20I series in England, leading up to the ICC Women's T20 World Cup commencing on June 12.
Regarding the South Africa tour, Kaur mentioned, "That was the reason behind it before the World Cup, if we can go and play some matches in South Africa. Hopefully, this tour will tick all the boxes that we as a team are taking there."
Celebrating Indian Cricket's Success
Reflecting on the recent triumphs of Indian cricket across various formats, including the men's team retaining the T20 World Cup, Harmanpreet emphasized the collective celebrations within the cricket community.
"After the World Cup, we all met at the BCCI Awards, and both the teams congratulated each other because not only two teams but all our five teams have won the World Cup this time. So, everyone was sharing their feelings and emotions with each other," she shared.
Acknowledgment of BCCI's Role
The 37-year-old praised the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for its contribution to the teams' achievements.
"I felt very good that this year was very good for BCCI. We have won all the ICC titles. So, that shows that they are putting in really hard work and are giving results to all the teams," she noted.
Commitment to Entertaining Fans
"As a cricketer, our aim is to play the best cricket, attract the audience and entertain them in a good way so that they can keep coming and watching us. That’s our aim, to play well so that we can entertain everyone," she concluded.
Inspiration Behind the 'Pink Stand'
Omaxe's Managing Director, Mohit Goel, explained that the idea for the dedicated stand stemmed from Harmanpreet's World Cup-winning moment.
"When I saw her taking that catch and winning the World Cup on 2nd November, we were contemplating how we can give back to her and to women’s cricket throughout the country. So, that’s when we thought, let’s make a pink stand that women should feel secure and absolutely safe while watching the match, and they can enjoy without worrying about anything else," Goel stated.
