Building on Past Success
The success of CM Trophy 2.0 builds on the foundation laid by its inaugural edition, which focused solely on football and attracted nearly 6,000 participants. This initial competition effectively identified over 50 talented young footballers for further development within the state's sports programs.
Encouraged by the previous success, the Sports & Youth Services Department broadened the tournament's scope this year to include various team sports, allowing a wider array of young athletes to demonstrate their skills in a structured environment.
This tournament not only offered a competitive platform for aspiring athletes but also reinforced Odisha's commitment to an athlete-centric approach in sports development. Talented individuals identified during the event will be considered for advanced training opportunities, bolstering the state's future sports pipeline.
The successful execution of CM Trophy 2.0 highlights Odisha's dedication to nurturing grassroots talent and creating pathways for young athletes to achieve excellence. As participation continues to rise annually, this initiative is becoming a cornerstone of the state's long-term vision to cultivate the next generation of sporting champions.
