Nurjahan Noorali Jamani Prepares for ITTF World Para Future

Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India], August 6: India's top para table tennis athlete, Nurjahan Noorali Jamani, is set to enhance her performance following a commendable outing in Kazakhstan. She will participate in the ITTF World Para Future event in Lahti, Finland, scheduled from August 28 to 30 at the Pajulahti Olympic Training Centre.

Ranked 27th globally, Nurjahan reached the quarterfinals at the ITTF World Para Future in Aktobe, Kazakhstan, where she narrowly missed advancing to the semifinals by a mere two points. This achievement highlights her consistent improvement as she gears up for another significant ranking competition.

“My quarterfinal finish in Kazakhstan has boosted my confidence as I head into Finland. I aim to build on that success and strive for victory in the tournament. The support from Adani Sportsline has been crucial in allowing me to compete at such a high level, and I am incredibly thankful for it,” Nurjahan expressed.

Currently ranked 8th in Asia within her category, Nurjahan is focused on breaking into the top six to secure her spot for the 2026 Asian Para Games in Japan later this year.

Having been diagnosed with polio at the age of five, Nurjahan made her return to competitive table tennis in 2022 and has since experienced a remarkable ascent in her career.

She successfully defended her title at the UTT Para Senior National Championship 2025-26 in Indore, following her victory at the UTT National Para Table Tennis Championship, which solidified her position as India's leading player in her category.

With her qualification for the 2026 Asian Para Games on the line, every ranking tournament is vital for her. A strong performance in Lahti would enhance Nurjahan's standing in the Asian rankings and bring her closer to representing India in Japan.
