Dubai, May 8: The nominees for the ICC Women's Player of the Month award include South Africa's captain Laura Wolvaardt, Sri Lankan batter Imesha Dulani, and Brazilian all-rounder Laura Cardosa.

Wolvaardt, who has recently clinched two awards in a short span, is nominated again following her impressive performances in an ODI series against New Zealand and a T20I series against India.

Dulani made a significant impact during her ODI and T20I tour of Bangladesh, while Cardosa gained attention after achieving a remarkable feat as the first player to take nine wickets in a T20I.

In her recent outings, Wolvaardt scored 138 runs across two ODIs, averaging 69.00, with consecutive scores of 69 against New Zealand. She continued her excellent form into the T20I series, amassing 330 runs in five matches at an average of 82.50 and a strike rate of 168.36.

Her standout performance came in the third T20I against India, where she hit 115 runs off just 53 balls, leading South Africa to a nine-wicket victory while chasing 192 runs. This innings included 14 fours and five sixes, showcasing her aggressive batting style with a strike rate of 216.98.

On the other hand, Dulani was recognized as the Player of the Series in a 2-1 victory over Bangladesh during the ICC Women’s Championship series, scoring a total of 116 runs. She also contributed 82 runs in two T20Is, highlighted by a quick 55 off 40 balls in the first match of the series.

Brazil's Laura Cardosa had an outstanding run in T20Is, scoring 203 runs at a strike rate exceeding 130 in seven matches, which included half-centuries against Botswana and Zambia. She also took 17 wickets with an impressive economy rate of 2.24, featuring remarkable bowling figures of nine wickets for four runs against Lesotho.
