Neymar's Fitness Improves Ahead of Key Match

Houston, June 29: Brazil's head coach Carlo Ancelotti has announced that star forward Neymar is showing notable improvement in his recovery and is now able to participate in matches for extended periods. This comes as the five-time world champions gear up for their Round of 32 match against Japan in the FIFA Club World Cup.

During a press conference on Sunday, Ancelotti highlighted that Neymar's fitness has significantly advanced over the past week. The 34-year-old forward, who was sidelined for Brazil's initial two matches in the FIFA World Cup, made a late appearance in the team's 3-0 win over Scotland.

"His progress in the last week has been remarkable," Ancelotti stated. "Previously, he could only play for about 15 minutes, but now he is fit enough to contribute more effectively."

As Brazil prepares for the knockout stage, Ancelotti expressed respect for Japan's capabilities, emphasizing that his team would treat the upcoming match with utmost seriousness.

"Facing Japan has been a valuable experience, as they are among the top teams globally," he remarked. "We will approach this match as if it were a final, because for us, it truly is."

The coach also underscored the necessity of mental readiness for the unpredictable nature of knockout football, which may include extra time and penalties.

"We must possess strong minds and resilient hearts. We need to be prepared for any scenario that arises in a knockout game, including the possibility of extra time or penalties. The team is motivated, confident, and ready, but every match in this tournament presents its own challenges," Ancelotti added.

Brazil's impressive performance in Group C has allowed them to maintain their record of finishing at the top of their World Cup group for the 12th consecutive time. The five-time champions have consistently secured first place in their group since 1982, marking an extraordinary 44-year streak of dominance in the group stages.
