Neymar Bids Farewell to International Football

On Sunday, Neymar declared that he has concluded his journey with Brazil's national football team following their elimination from the World Cup, suffering a 2-1 defeat against Norway in the round of 16.

Reflecting on his career, Neymar stated, "I tried. It began here at MetLife Stadium, and it ends here. It is now over."

The 34-year-old made his debut for Brazil on August 9, 2010, during a friendly match against the United States at the Meadowlands in northern New Jersey. In the match against Norway, he managed to score from a penalty kick shortly after coming off the bench.

Due to a persistent calf injury, Neymar participated in only two of Brazil's five matches during the tournament, including a brief 15-minute appearance against Scotland in the group stage.

Having been Brazil's standout player for over a decade, Neymar's recent years have been marred by injuries that have diminished his influence on the field. The team is now poised for a transition as a new generation of players steps up.

Captain Marquinhos urged fans to be patient and supportive of the upcoming talent, stating, "We ask that people will have the patience with the new generation and support them from the get-go."
