In a remarkable display, the Netherlands has become the eighth nation in the history of the FIFA World Cup to score over 100 goals. This achievement was marked by their impressive 5-1 victory against Sweden during the Group F match of the 2026 World Cup held in Texas on Saturday.
With this milestone, the Dutch team now stands alongside football giants such as Brazil (241 goals), Germany (239), Argentina (152), France (136), Italy (128), Spain (108), and England (104) in the all-time World Cup goal rankings.

The match showcased a stellar performance from Brian Brobbey and Cody Gakpo, each netting two goals, while Crysencio Summerville capped off the scoring with a fifth goal late in the game. This victory also marked the Dutch team's 18th consecutive unbeaten match in World Cup group stages and extended their overall unbeaten streak in World Cup matches to 14.
Brobbey, who came in for Summerville, made an immediate impact by scoring two goals within the first 17 minutes, achieving the fourth-fastest brace in World Cup history. Although Sweden found their rhythm later in the first half, Gakpo's two quick goals after halftime solidified the Netherlands' dominance.
Anthony Elanga managed to score for Sweden just before the hour mark, but Summerville's late goal ensured a comprehensive victory for Ronald Koeman's squad, bringing them closer to advancing to the knockout stage.
The Dutch opened the scoring early, with Brobbey finishing a well-coordinated play involving Tijjani Reijnders and Gakpo. Despite Sweden's attempts to respond, including a shot from Viktor Gyokeres that tested goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen, the Netherlands maintained control throughout the match.
Gakpo's quick double after the break, including a clever finish from a Dumfries assist, further extended the lead. Although Elanga's goal provided a glimmer of hope for Sweden, Summerville's late strike in the 89th minute sealed the match, keeping the Netherlands firmly in the race for the knockout rounds.
