Focus and Determination: Neeru Dhanda's Message

New Delhi, October 16: Renowned Indian trap shooter Neeru Dhanda has called on athletes to maintain their focus as they prepare for the upcoming Para Asian Games. She emphasized the importance of ignoring distractions, believing in oneself, and aiming for gold medals for India.

The fifth edition of the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Para Games is scheduled to take place from October 18 to 24 in Aichi Prefecture and Nagoya, Japan.

“Support India! My advice is to create your own protective bubble, stay within it, and concentrate on your goals. Keep your eyes on the prize and give your utmost to secure gold for India,” Dhanda expressed.

Dhanda also had the honor of leading the Indian delegation as the flag-bearer during the closing ceremony of the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, where she achieved remarkable success, winning two gold medals and one silver.

Reflecting on her experience as the flag bearer, Dhanda described it as a dream realized, noting that the unexpected privilege of carrying the national flag was both unforgettable and deeply emotional.

“Being the flag bearer for India at the Asian Games closing ceremony is a dream for every athlete. I never thought I would have this chance, so it was a delightful surprise. Carrying the Indian flag was an extraordinary feeling, one that is hard to articulate,” she shared.

On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with the Indian contingent from the Asian Games 2026 at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in New Delhi, where athletes, coaches, and officials gathered to celebrate the nation’s achievements at the continental event.

Dhanda described her interaction with PM Modi as highly motivating, stating that his encouragement and commitment to advancing sports in India inspired her to strive for excellence.

“The event was wonderfully organized. Meeting our Prime Minister and hearing his words greatly motivated me. His efforts to promote sports in our country are truly inspiring and push us to perform even better,” she concluded.
