Mumbai Cricket Association to Honor Legends with New Stadium Features
Celebrating Cricket Legends at Wankhede Stadium
Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], April 7: The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) is set to honor four prominent figures in Indian cricket by unveiling the Ravi Shastri Stand and dedicating stadium gates to Dilip Sardesai, Eknath Solkar, and Diana Edulji at Wankhede Stadium on April 9.
The ceremony will be attended by Maharashtra's Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis, along with MCA President Ajinkya Naik, Apex Council members, and various cricketing personalities. This initiative was approved during an MCA Apex Council meeting held in February.
The Level 1 Stand beneath the Press Box will be named after Ravi Shastri, a former captain and celebrated commentator, in recognition of his significant contributions to both Mumbai and Indian cricket as a player, leader, and coach.
Additionally, Gate No. 3, Gate No. 5, and Gate No. 6 will be dedicated as the Dilip Sardesai Gate, Diana Edulji Gate, and Eknath Solkar Gate, respectively, honoring these Mumbai legends who have left a lasting mark on Indian cricket.
