Mukesh Kumar Commends Axar Patel's Captaincy

New Delhi, March 25: Mukesh Kumar, the fast bowler for India and Delhi Capitals (DC), has expressed admiration for Axar Patel's leadership qualities. He emphasized that Axar's composed nature and optimistic outlook play a significant role in creating a nurturing atmosphere within the team.


In a recent interaction with the media, Mukesh characterized Axar as a captain who prioritizes player welfare, fostering an environment where teammates feel comfortable sharing their thoughts and ideas during matches.


“He is a genuinely good person and maintains a positive attitude. I often discuss field placements with him, and he encourages me to play with freedom,” Mukesh Kumar stated.


Additionally, Mukesh revealed his commitment to enhancing his bowling skills, particularly focusing on mastering essential variations that are crucial for excelling in T20 cricket.


Discussing his training regimen, Mukesh highlighted the need for consistency in length deliveries while also honing his yorker and wide yorker skills, which are vital in tense match situations.


“I am working on all aspects of my bowling, especially the length ball, which is essential in T20s. Mastering yorkers and wide yorkers is also important for every bowler, so I am focusing on that as well,” he explained.


The Delhi Capitals are set to kick off their IPL 2026 campaign against the Lucknow Super Giants on April 1, followed by a match against the Mumbai Indians on April 4, and subsequent games against the Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings on April 8 and April 11, respectively.
