Dhoni's Thoughts After CSK's Season Finale

Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India] - On May 25, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain MS Dhoni shared his thoughts on the team's successful season, following a decisive 83-run victory against Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

“It was a good day. While the crowd wasn't at full capacity, there was a respectable turnout. Ending the season with a win feels great. This performance was nearly perfect,” Dhoni remarked during the post-match presentation, as reported by a Media House.

CSK showcased their prowess with both bat and ball, scoring an impressive 230 runs for 5 wickets and then restricting GT to just 147 runs.

The match highlighted CSK's all-around capabilities, including excellent fielding. “This was one of those matches where our catching was spot on,” the 42-year-old captain noted.

Despite the victory, Dhoni left fans in suspense regarding his future in professional cricket. “It’s a matter of time. I have four to five months to think it over. Professional cricket demands peak performance, and it’s not solely about past achievements. It’s crucial to assess your passion for the game. I have ample time to make a decision,” he explained.

“I’ll head back to Ranchi. I’m not declaring my retirement, nor am I confirming my return. I have the luxury of time to contemplate,” he added.

Looking back on the season, Dhoni acknowledged early worries regarding the batting lineup, particularly since CSK played four of their first six matches in Chennai. “We won the toss and opted to chase. In the second innings, we faced some pressure. Initially, I was concerned about our batting. However, now everyone has stepped up,” he concluded.
