Celebrating Cricketing Triumphs

Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], March 22: The legendary MS Dhoni, along with the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), honored T20 World Cup champions Sanju Samson, Shivam Dube, and U-19 captain Ayush Mhatre during a pre-season fan gathering (ROAR 2026) held in Chepauk on Sunday.

During this event, Dhoni presented unique mementoes to the victorious players, celebrating their recent achievements in the T20 World Cup.

The year 2026 has begun on a high note for Indian cricket, as the nation clinched its sixth U19 World Cup title, defeating England by 100 runs in the final held in Harare.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi scored an impressive 175 runs off just 80 balls, while captain Ayush Mhatre contributed 53 runs, leading India to a total of 411/9 in their 50 overs. England struggled in response, getting bowled out for 311 in 40.2 overs.

Earlier this month, India also triumphed in the Men's T20 World Cup 2026, overpowering New Zealand by 96 runs in the final. Batting first, India amassed a formidable score of 255/5, thanks to Sanju Samson's 89 runs off 46 balls and Ishan Kishan's 54 runs off 25 balls.

New Zealand, in their chase, was dismissed for 159 runs in just 19 overs, with Jasprit Bumrah taking 4 wickets for 15 runs and Axar Patel contributing with 3 wickets for 27 runs.

After a disappointing last season where the Ruturaj Gaikwad-led team finished at the bottom of the points table, CSK has revamped its squad in the mini-auction and is optimistic about securing a record sixth title this year.
