Mohammad Rizwan Faces Criticism Amid Struggles in T20 Cricket
Rizwan's Current Struggles in T20 Cricket
Mohammad Rizwan, the wicketkeeper-batter from Pakistan, is currently facing significant criticism due to his underwhelming performances in T20 cricket. Once considered a key player for the national team, Rizwan has recently lost his spot following a series of disappointing outings. His struggles have continued in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL), where his team, Rawalpindi, remains winless after seven matches.
When questioned about how his current form might affect his chances of returning to the Pakistan T20 squad, Rizwan candidly acknowledged that he does not merit a place on the team given his recent performances. He stated, “While playing in the Big Bash, I expressed that I didn’t deserve a spot in the Pakistan team based on my current form.”
Despite his challenges, Rizwan remains hopeful for a comeback, expressing confidence that he will soon regain his form. He recalled a conversation with a teammate, saying, “I told Haris that I don’t deserve a place in the Pakistan team with this kind of performance. He knows what I mean.” Rizwan emphasized the importance of honesty in acknowledging his struggles, stating, “We are human beings. I admitted that my performance is lacking, but that doesn’t mean I will lose hope or quit cricket.”
Rizwan further elaborated on his dedication to the sport, asserting that cricket is his sole passion and he has no other pursuits in life. He acknowledged his current difficulties but affirmed his commitment to hard work, stating, “I love cricket, and I don’t know anything else. I may be struggling now, but with hard work and God’s will, I will return to form.”
