Mo Salah Set to Announce New Club After Leaving Liverpool
Salah's Departure from Liverpool
Cairo, Egypt - April 28: Mo Salah, the iconic Liverpool player, is expected to disclose his new club within days, according to a member of the Egyptian national team. This announcement comes as he prepares to part ways with The Reds after a remarkable nine-year tenure.
The Egyptian forward will conclude his time at Liverpool at the end of the 2025-26 season, following a mutual agreement to terminate his contract, which was initially set to last until 2027.
Muhammad Murad, the media coordinator for Egypt's national team, indicated that Salah is on the brink of making his next move public. Although speculation about a transfer to the Saudi Pro League is widespread, Salah's agent, Ramy Abbas Issa, has remained tight-lipped, stating that "no one knows" where Salah will head next.
Murad mentioned, as reported by Four Four Two and cited by Goal.com, "There are reports about him receiving offers from Italy, France, and other major teams globally – this is certainly true, as he is a significant player and would enhance any squad. Regardless of which team he chooses, we will support him – he also has offers from Saudi Arabia... I believe he will announce his next destination in a few days."
As Salah approaches the end of his contract, he recently sustained a hamstring injury during Liverpool's 3-1 victory over Crystal Palace on April 25. This injury could potentially shorten his time with the club, with Egypt's team director Ibrahim Hassan suggesting that recovery might take four weeks, possibly sidelining him for Liverpool's last four matches. Currently, the team is in fourth place with 58 points, but the club has yet to confirm the injury details.
Since joining from AS Roma in the summer of 2017, Salah has solidified his status as one of Liverpool's all-time greats, contributing to the club's achievements, including two Premier League titles, the Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup, UEFA Super Cup, FA Cup, and two League Cups, along with an FA Community Shield. With 255 goals in 435 appearances, he ranks third on Liverpool's all-time goalscorers list and has claimed the Premier League Golden Boot four times, alongside numerous personal awards.
