The excitement is palpable in Mithapur as 14-year-old Navneet Singh and his 10-year-old brother Avneet, sons of a local driver, express their admiration for hockey legend Manpreet Singh. Recently, Manpreet made headlines by becoming India's most-capped hockey player, reaching an impressive total of 413 international matches.


The atmosphere in Mithapur is one of joy and celebration, as the community reflects on the achievements of one of its own. Youngsters from humble backgrounds continue to practice daily on the very ground where Manpreet once trained, dreaming of donning the Indian jersey just like their idol. Many of these aspiring athletes cite Manpreet's journey as a source of inspiration.

Anu, the mother of Navneet and Avneet, shared, "For the past few days, my children have been buzzing about their hero, Manpreet paaji. Whenever he visits Mithapur, he always makes time to connect with the academy kids. Their encounters with him only fuel their aspirations further."
