Matthew Hayden Joins Glasgow Cosmic Ahead of ETPL

Glasgow [Scotland], June 10: Renowned Australian cricketer Matthew Hayden has officially become the co-owner and head coach of Glasgow Cosmic, just in time for the inaugural season of the European T20 Premier League (ETPL). This marks a significant development for the franchise as it gears up for its first campaign.

As a World Cup champion and one of the most esteemed opening batsmen in cricket history, Hayden brings extensive international experience and leadership skills to the Glasgow-based team, as stated in a recent announcement.

His new role enhances Glasgow Cosmic's aspirations to establish a competitive and internationally recognized cricket brand within the growing European cricket scene.

Expressing his enthusiasm for this new chapter, Hayden remarked, “I am truly honored and humbled to take on the role of Head Coach for the Glasgow Cosmics in the inaugural season of the European T20 Premier League. Cricket has provided me with countless opportunities throughout my career—as a player, teammate, mentor, broadcaster, and coach—and the chance to help develop a new franchise from the ground up is an exciting challenge for me.”

Hayden noted that the franchise's long-term vision and leadership were key factors in his decision to join the project.
