New Delhi, April 28: Manu Bhaker, a two-time Olympic medalist in shooting, proudly celebrated ten years in her sport today.


In a heartfelt social media post, she shared her reflections on the journey, highlighting both the challenges and triumphs she has faced.


On Instagram, Bhaker expressed that reaching this milestone has been a remarkable experience, filled with inspiration, as she reminisced about her early enthusiasm and commitment. She credited her family as her unwavering support system throughout her career.


“Today marks a decade in my sport. I never imagined my journey would be so enriching and inspiring. I vividly remember receiving my first Indian team jersey, which I wore constantly, even in the heat of summer. I dedicated every moment to practicing with my pistols, regardless of the circumstances,” she shared in her post.


“Through all my highs and lows, my family has been my pillar of strength, always striving to ease my path,” she added.

Among her significant accomplishments, Bhaker notably represented India at the 2024 Paris Olympics, where she earned two bronze medals—one in the individual 10m air pistol event and another in the mixed doubles category. Her contributions were vital to India's overall medal tally of six at the Games, placing her among the distinguished Indian shooters with multiple Olympic medals.


In her Instagram reflection, Bhaker mentioned that as she prepares for the Paris 2024 Olympics, she has sought guidance from the Bhagavad Gita to help her move beyond the memories of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, where she faced disappointment due to a gun malfunction.


“As I approach Paris 2024, I found myself reflecting on Tokyo 2020; I turned to the Bhagavad Gita, which helped me to overcome my past and build strength for my present and future,” she stated.
