Manu Bhaker and Simranpreet Kaur Shine at National Shooting Championship

Outstanding Performances at the NSCC

New Delhi, December 16: Double Olympic medalist Manu Bhaker and gold medalist Simranpreet Kaur Brar from the ISSF World Cup Final in Cairo 2025 showcased exceptional skills at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range, clinching gold in the senior and junior women's 25m sports pistol events during the 68th National Shooting Championship Competitions (NSCC).


Manu secured the gold by scoring 36 in the final, finishing ahead of Karnataka's Divya T.S., who earned silver with a score of 32. Anjali Choudhary took home the bronze after hitting 28 targets. Rhythm Sangwan (22) placed fourth, followed by Arshdeep Kaur (18), Annu Raj Singh (14), and Anuja Verma (11) in fifth, sixth, and seventh places, respectively. Parisha Gupta did not participate in the final.


In the qualification round, Divya T.S. led with a score of 587-22x, followed closely by Anjali Choudhary (582-19x). Annu Raj Singh finished third with 582-16x, while Manu qualified fourth with 581-19x. Parisha Gupta was fifth with 581-14x, and Rhythm Sangwan (579-17x) rounded out the top six, with Arshdeep Kaur and Anuja Verma completing the top eight with scores of 578-19x.


Simranpreet Kaur Brar continued her impressive streak in the Junior Women’s 25m Sports Pistol final, scoring 39 to secure the gold medal. Dwaram Pranavi earned silver, while Haryana's Palak took bronze with a score of 20. Tanu Shree Tomar (19) finished fourth after a shoot-off, followed by Sejal Raju Kamble (14), Megana Sadula (11), and Lavanya Kanwar (7). Parisha did not start in the final.


In the junior qualification round, Parisha Gupta topped the charts, with Simranpreet Kaur Brar qualifying second with a score of 578-13x. Palak (575-14x) was third, followed by Sejal Raju Kamble (575-12x), Tanu Shree Tomar (573-11x), Lavanya Kanwar (572-17x), Megana Sadula (572-13x), and Dwaram Pranavi (572-11x).


Maharashtra triumphed in the Women’s Team 25m Sports Pistol event, winning gold with a total score of 1726-40x, thanks to Shital Preetam Desai (577-12x), Abhidnya Ashok Patil (575-13x), and Rahi Sarnobat (574-15x). The Army Marksmanship Unit, comprising Anuja Verma, Sejal Raju Kamble, and Anjali Bhagwat, secured silver with 1722-44x, while Haryana's team (Rhythm Sangwan, Vibhuti Bhatia, and Tejaswani) took bronze with 1718-43x.


In the Junior Women’s Team event, the Army Marksmanship Unit (Sejal Raju Kamble, Jiya Jakhar, and Anjali Bhagwat) won gold with a score of 1714-38x. Delhi's team (Parisha Gupta, Kamakshi Kumar, and Naamya Kapoor) earned silver with 1714-36x, while Punjab (Simranpreet Kaur Brar, Agam Grewal, and Jasman Kelley) claimed bronze with 1709-40x.


The championship will continue on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, featuring the Men's Skeet finals in New Delhi, alongside the Women's 50m Rifle 3 Positions finals at the Madhya Pradesh State Shooting Academy in Bhopal.
