Mainpat Titans Secure Victory Over Rajdhani Royals

Raipur (Chhattisgarh) [India], October 25: In a decisive match on Sunday, the Rajdhani Royals faced a significant defeat against the Mainpat Titans, who triumphed with a score of 5-2 in the Chhattisgarh Hockey League.

This defeat has effectively eliminated the Royals from the tournament, as they struggled across all aspects of the game. The first quarter was largely uneventful, with both teams content to control the ball in midfield and rarely penetrate the circle. However, towards the end of the quarter, Mainpat seized an opportunity, with Manish Vatti scoring the first goal of the match.

Rajdhani responded quickly, with Aniket leveling the score after receiving a pass from Raushan outside the circle. Just 30 seconds later, Raushan appeared to have scored again, but the goal was controversially disallowed, leaving him in disbelief.

Capitalizing on this moment, Mainpat regained the lead when Sandeep Thakur scored, making it 2-1 at halftime. A standout moment came from Lalit, who delivered a brilliant pass to Raushan, allowing him to deflect the ball into the net, potentially earning the title of 'goal of the tournament.' Mainpat extended their lead further when Mohit Nayak scored with a reverse flick.

Despite some lackluster play from Lalit’s team, the Titans increased their advantage to 4-2 with a goal from Prince. This effectively sealed the match for the Royals, who struggled to mount any significant attacks. A major concern for the Royals was their failure to convert penalty corners, resulting in no goals from that aspect. Following the match, Mohit Nayak was honored as the striker and player of the tournament.

Upcoming matches on October 26 will feature the Sanskardhani Strikers against the Bailadila Bulls, and the Chakradhar Champions facing off against the Mainpat Titans.

In another match, the Nyayadhani Knights edged closer to a semi-final spot with a convincing 4-1 victory over the Bailadila Bulls. The Knights have now secured three wins in a row, placing them at the top of the points table, while the Bulls remain winless at the bottom. Chirag was the standout player, scoring a hat-trick, while Jaskaran Singh netted the Bulls' only goal. For his performance, Chirag was named both the striker and player of the match.

The match was attended by notable figures including the Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs, Tokhan Sahu; Deputy CM and Minister of Sports and Youth Welfare, Arun Sao Ji; MP Kamlesh Jangde; and former cabinet minister Mahesh Gagada.
