Rohit Sharma's Test Career Highlights

Rohit Sharma concluded his Test career after participating in 67 matches over 11 years. He made his Test debut against the West Indies in November 2013, accumulating a total of 4,301 runs with an average of 40.57, including 12 centuries and 18 fifties. His highest score of 212 was achieved during a notable home series against South Africa in 2019.

Sharma's Test journey began with a stunning 177 against the West Indies at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, in 2013. Despite showing great potential, he faced challenges in establishing himself as a consistent performer in the longer format, particularly during overseas tours. From 2013 to 2018, he played only 27 Tests, scoring 1,585 runs at an average of 39.63, with three centuries and ten fifties, his best being 151.

However, Rohit rejuvenated his Test career as an opener, notably scoring twin centuries against South Africa in Visakhapatnam in 2019. Throughout the ICC World Test Championship (WTC), he amassed 2,716 runs at an average of 41.15, with nine centuries and eight fifties, solidifying his status as India's leading run-scorer in WTC history. He also led India to the WTC final against Australia in the UK in 2023.
