Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], May 25: A grand ceremony was held at Taj Lakefront in Bhopal on Monday to unveil the jerseys for all ten men's franchises and five women's teams participating in the upcoming Madhya Pradesh League (MPL) T20 Scindia Cup 2026.
Each team showcased vibrant and uniquely crafted jerseys that embody the identity, culture, and spirit of their respective regions, heightening anticipation for what is expected to be the most significant MPL edition to date.
During the event, MPCA President Mahanaaryaman Scindia emphasized the tournament's rapid evolution and its broader vision for cricket in Madhya Pradesh.
“The unveiling of the jerseys signifies the start of another thrilling chapter for the Madhya Pradesh League. The MPL has transformed into more than just a cricket tournament; it has become a celebration of emerging talent and the love for cricket throughout Madhya Pradesh. Each season, the league provides young players with a vital platform to display their skills, gain exposure, and advance their careers. This year’s jerseys beautifully represent the unique identity, culture, and regional pride of the teams, fostering a deeper connection between players, fans, and their cities. As the tournament expands this year, we are proud to see MPL continue to contribute to the growth of cricket in the state and inspire the next generation of cricketers,” he stated.
MPL CEO Ravi Patankar shared similar views, stating, “With each new season, the Madhya Pradesh League elevates the standard of domestic T20 cricket in the state. The jersey unveiling showcases the identity, energy, and ambition of every franchise and player involved this year. MPL is not only creating thrilling cricketing opportunities for young talents but is also enhancing the sporting culture of Madhya Pradesh by uniting fans, players, and communities through the spirit of the game.”
The team identities in the Madhya Pradesh League also celebrate the state's rich wildlife heritage, known for its forests, national parks, and biodiversity. Franchise names like Bhopal Leopards, Chambal Ghariyals, Gwalior Shernis, Royal Nimar Eagles, and Ujjain Falcons draw inspiration from powerful animals and birds that symbolize strength, courage, agility, and regional pride.
The tournament is set to commence on June 3, featuring ten men's teams and five women's franchises, marking MPL 2026 as the largest edition in the league's history.
The men's competition will kick off with the Gwalior Cheetahs facing the Ujjain Falcons at Holkar Stadium in Indore at 7:30 PM.
The women's tournament will begin on June 4, with the Chambal Ghariyals taking on the Gwalior Shernis at Daly College, Indore.
