Litton Das's Fitness Update Ahead of ODIs Against Zimbabwe
Injury Update on Litton Das
Harare, Zimbabwe - Bangladesh's physiotherapist, Bayzedul Islam Khan, has indicated that Litton Das is not expected to be ready for the first ODI against Zimbabwe on July 6. However, he is anticipated to regain fitness in time for the subsequent matches on July 9 and 11.
Bayzedul explained that Litton is dealing with a Grade I calf muscle injury, which typically requires two to three weeks for recovery. "Two weeks have already elapsed, and we hope he will be fit by the end of the third week," he stated.
He further noted, "The chances of him participating in the first ODI are very slim, but if he meets all fitness criteria, he should be available for the second and third ODIs."
Team manager Nafees Iqbal confirmed that Litton Das will arrive in Zimbabwe on July 1, while the rest of the Bangladesh team is already in the country. Despite not being fully fit, he has been included in the ODI squad for the three-match series following the ongoing Test.
Litton last played in the ODI series against Australia in mid-June but missed the subsequent T20I series, which Bangladesh lost 3-0, and was also absent from the Zimbabwe Test.
In other news, captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz has rejoined the ODI squad after missing the third ODI against Australia due to a concussion. He had previously been rested from the Test squad for the Zimbabwe tour.
The Bangladesh ODI squad for the series in Zimbabwe includes: Mehidy Hasan Miraz (captain), Soumya Sarkar, Saif Hassan, Tanzid Hasan, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Towhid Hridoy, Litton Das, Mosaddek Hossain, Nurul Hasan, Rishad Hossain, Tanvir Islam, Mustafizur Rahman, Taskin Ahmed, Shoriful Islam, and Nahid Rana.
