Guwahati, Sept 29: Cricket enthusiasts in Guwahati are gearing up for what might be one of the final chances to witness Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli donning the Indian jersey together at the ACA Stadium this Wednesday.
The iconic duo is set to take the field as India faces off against the West Indies in the second ODI of the series, which could potentially mark their last ODI appearance together in Guwahati.
Having already stepped back from Test and T20I formats, both players are now focusing on the 50-over game, with their sights set on the 2027 ODI World Cup. However, their future in international cricket beyond this tournament remains uncertain.

Tapash Roy, a former scorer and statistician with the BCCI, highlighted the significance of this match for local fans, given the impressive records of both players at the ACA Stadium.
"This could be the last time we see these two modern legends play together in India colours in Guwahati. They have performed exceptionally well in their last two ODIs here," Roy remarked.
Their last appearance at this venue was a memorable one for cricket fans in Guwahati. On January 10, 2023, against Sri Lanka, Rohit scored a brisk 83, while Kohli dazzled with a remarkable 113 off just 87 balls, leading India to a 67-run victory.
Five years prior, on October 21, 2018, the duo delivered an even more spectacular performance against the West Indies, with Rohit remaining unbeaten on 152 and Kohli contributing 140. Together, they forged a 246-run partnership, successfully chasing down a target of 323 with nearly eight overs to spare.
These performances are etched in the memory of Barsapara's cricket history.
The anticipation of seeing both players walk out together continues to excite Indian cricket fans.
The first ODI of the series took place in Thiruvananthapuram on September 27, where India secured a victory, taking a 1-0 lead in the series.
