In a match that lasted 45 minutes, Sen's comeback secured him a spot in the next round of this prestigious tournament taking place on home turf.

The first game was tightly contested, with both competitors trading points early on. Filimon managed to hold a narrow 11-10 lead at the mid-game interval, while Sen struggled to find his rhythm, leading to several unforced errors.

Capitalizing on Sen's mistakes, Filimon built a significant advantage, reaching 20-16 before clinching the first game 21-16.

In response, Sen came out strong in the second game, maintaining an aggressive approach and quickly establishing a lead after the scores were tied at 6-6. He scored four consecutive points, taking control of the match.

As the pressure mounted on Filimon, Sen surged ahead to 20-8, converting his first game point to force a decisive third game.

The final game was dominated by Sen, who raced to an 11-1 lead at the break and maintained his momentum, ultimately winning 21-4.

Sen's victory was a highlight for India on a mixed day at the World Championships, where earlier, Unnati Hooda triumphed over Myanmar's Thet Htar Thuzar with scores of 22-20, 21-16 in the women's singles. Additionally, Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand advanced to the women's doubles Round of 16 after defeating USA's Lauren Lam and Allison Lee 21-15, 21-12.
