In a significant achievement, Lakshya Sen, who is a Commonwealth Games champion and reached the semifinals at the Paris Olympics, has re-entered the top 10 of the Badminton World Federation (BWF) men's singles rankings for the first time since March of the previous year.

The Badminton Association of India (BAI) celebrated Lakshya's return to the elite rankings on social media, highlighting his perseverance through 440 days of injuries and setbacks. The post stated, "For over 440 days, Lakshya Sen has battled relentless injuries, grueling recovery, and devastating setbacks that would have broken most. Today, he’s back where he belongs."

Recent Performances and Upcoming Matches

Earlier this month at the Malaysia Masters, Lakshya faced an early exit, losing to Indonesia's Zaki Ubaidillah in the first round with scores of 21-17, 21-11. Despite this setback, he has shown impressive form throughout the year, including a runner-up finish at the prestigious All England Open in March and quarterfinal appearances at the India Open, Indonesia Masters, and Thailand Open.

Last year concluded on a high note for him with a title win at the Australia Open in November and a third-place finish at the Japan Masters. He also secured a runner-up position at the Hong Kong Open and a third-place finish at the Macau Open, despite experiencing a dip in form. His most significant challenge was an unexpected first-round exit at the BWF World Championships against Shi Yu Qi from China.

Lakshya is set to compete next in the Singapore Open, scheduled from May 26 to May 31.
