Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], September 6: Lakshya Raichandani, a player for Mussoorie Thunder, has shared his enthusiasm after being selected as the captain of the India U-19 team for the upcoming white-ball series against Australia. Currently competing in the Dehradun T20 League, Lakshya expressed eagerness to embrace the leadership role for the national team and aims to maximize this opportunity.

“My family was overjoyed when I received the call. It was a truly special moment for us. I am thrilled about this responsibility and view it as a fantastic chance to lead the team, learn, and demonstrate my abilities,” Lakshya remarked.

As he prepares to lead the India U-19 squad against Australia, he conveyed his gratitude for the chance to represent his country.

Discussing his experience in the Dehradun T20 League, the Mussoorie Thunder player noted that the tournament has offered valuable competitive exposure, especially for young and local cricketers.

“The Dehradun T20 League is providing excellent exposure for local players. It serves as great preparation for those aspiring to play in the UPL. Local players are gaining the chance to engage in competitive T20 cricket, acquire experience, and showcase their talents. I believe this league can significantly aid the development of cricket in Dehradun and Uttarakhand,” he stated.

Reflecting on his initial experience in the tournament, Lakshya viewed the league as a valuable opportunity for match practice and experience in a competitive setting.

“When I first learned about the Dehradun T20 League and discovered through the auction that I would have the chance to participate, my initial thought was that it would be excellent practice for me. There was also a lot of excitement because it was a new league, and I recognized it as a great opportunity to gain experience and prepare myself,” he shared.

With the domestic season on the horizon, Lakshya emphasized his commitment to ongoing improvement and consistency.

“I am focusing on enhancing my game daily and striving for improvement in every area. With a lengthy domestic season ahead, my priority is to maintain consistency, work diligently in practice, and make incremental improvements each day,” he concluded.
