In Guwahati, Assam, Indian spinner Kuldeep Yadav is just two wickets shy of reaching the impressive milestone of 200 wickets in One Day Internationals (ODIs). This achievement has only been reached by nine Indian bowlers, with just four spinners making the cut in the history of the 50-over format.

Following a standout performance that earned him the 'Player of the Match' title for his remarkable four-wicket haul in Thiruvananthapuram, Kuldeep heads into the second ODI against the West Indies in Guwahati brimming with confidence.

Throughout his ODI career, Kuldeep has claimed 198 wickets across 122 matches, boasting an average of 26.70. His record includes 10 four-wicket hauls and two five-wicket hauls, with his best bowling figures standing at 6/25. He ranks as India's ninth-highest wicket-taker in ODIs, trailing behind spin legend Anil Kumble, who leads with 334 wickets from 269 matches.

Among Indian spinners, only Kumble (334), Harbhajan Singh (265), and Ravindra Jadeja (232) have surpassed the 200-wicket mark.

This year, Kuldeep's performance in five ODIs has been inconsistent, as he has taken only seven wickets at an average of 37.71 and an economy rate of 5.86.
