KSCA Clarifies Its Position on Ticket Sales

The Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) has publicly distanced itself from the ongoing investigation into alleged black-market ticket sales associated with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) matches during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. The association emphasized that it does not participate in the distribution or sale of tickets to the public.

In a statement, KSCA spokesperson Vinay Mruthyunjaya responded to media speculation suggesting that some entities under scrutiny for acquiring tickets and reselling them at inflated prices might be connected to the association.

KSCA firmly rejected these allegations, clarifying that it is “neither the ticketing agency nor the selling authority” for RCB matches. The association noted that ticket sales are managed solely through the franchise's authorized channels and designated ticketing partners.

Further explaining its limited involvement, KSCA stated that it only receives a “limited allocation of tickets,” which are distributed exclusively to cricket clubs, permanent members, and certain government or statutory bodies. The association reiterated that it does not sell tickets to the general public.

In response to the ongoing investigation, KSCA asserted that “the entities currently under investigation have no direct or indirect ties to KSCA,” and confirmed that “the individuals involved are not members of KSCA.”

The association expressed its commitment to fully cooperate with the investigating authorities and called for a thorough inquiry to identify the offenders and ensure appropriate legal action is taken.

Under the leadership of B K Venkatesh Prasad, KSCA reaffirmed its dedication to upholding “the highest standards of integrity” while promoting and developing cricket throughout Karnataka.

In related news, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced that the IPL 2026 final, originally scheduled to take place at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, will now be held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on May 31. The BCCI explained that the venue change was necessary due to specific requirements from local authorities that exceeded the established guidelines and protocols.
