Kolkata Knight Riders Announce Blessing Muzarabani as Mustafizur Rahman's Replacement for IPL 2026
KKR Secures Blessing Muzarabani for IPL 2026
After a wait of over two months, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have officially announced the replacement for Mustafizur Rahman ahead of the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) season, which kicks off on March 28. The franchise has signed Zimbabwean cricketer Blessing Muzarabani, who previously played for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) during their championship-winning campaign last year.
On March 13, KKR confirmed the addition of the 6 ft 8” right-arm fast bowler, stating, "KKR have signed Zimbabwe fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani to join the squad for the upcoming TATA Indian Premier League 2026 season. Muzarabani has established himself as one of Zimbabwe’s top pace bowlers in T20 cricket, recognized for his impressive bounce and ability to take wickets during crucial moments of the game. With over 90 wickets in more than 80 T20 Internationals at an average of around 21, and best figures of 3/8, he brings a wealth of experience to the team. His consistent performance in various global leagues and international matches will enhance KKR’s bowling lineup as they prepare for the season," the statement added.
Previously, Muzarabani was signed by Islamabad United but opted out of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), where he was brought in as a replacement for Shamar Joseph after the West Indies player was removed from the squad.
