Kerala to Host Grand Reception for T20 World Cup Star Sanju Samson

The government of Kerala is set to hold an official reception to celebrate cricketer Sanju Samson, who played a pivotal role in leading India to victory in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup and was named Player of the Tournament. This event will take place in the state capital on Monday.

According to a statement from state Sports Minister V Abdurahiman, the reception is scheduled for 4 pm at the Central Stadium.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will kick off the event, which will also see the participation of the sports minister, Chief Secretary, and other high-ranking officials.

Samson, originally from the coastal town of Vizhinjam, made significant contributions to India's success in the tournament with a series of outstanding batting displays.

His remarkable performances during the virtual quarter-final, semi-final, and final were crucial in securing the championship for India.

This World Cup marked a notable comeback for the Keralite cricketer following a brief period of underperformance. The Sports Department has made extensive preparations to ensure he receives a warm and grand welcome.
