Kapil Dev Celebrates India-Australia Relations at KHUSHII Event
Strengthening Bonds: Kapil Dev and Richard Marles at KHUSHII
New Delhi, June 1: Renowned former Indian cricketer Kapil Dev has praised the growing relationship between India and Australia, commending both nations for their efforts in enhancing diplomatic ties. During an event called 'Manobal', which highlights the collaboration between the Australian High Commission and the KHUSHII organization, Australia's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence, Richard Marles, acknowledged the significant contributions of KHUSHII.
At the event, Kapil Dev, who founded the KHUSHII Foundation, expressed his appreciation for the robust connections between the two countries. He extended his gratitude to Australia for its support of the Indian community and recognized the valuable contributions made by Indians residing there.
Kapil emphasized the importance of collective efforts in aiding underprivileged children and the need for communities to unite for a greater social impact. He stated, “The governments are making significant efforts to strengthen the relationship between Australia and India. I want to express my thanks on behalf of the Indian community for the support they receive. The work being done by Indians is commendable, and I am grateful for the collaboration in supporting KHUSHII, which focuses on caring for each other and underprivileged children. Engaging with one another is essential for positive change.”
Established in 2003, KHUSHII is a Non-Governmental Organisation founded by Kapil Dev, aimed at providing quality education and holistic development to young individuals in India.
Deputy Prime Minister Richard Marles praised the impactful initiatives of KHUSHII and expressed his honor in attending the event alongside Kapil Dev. He remarked on the unprecedented strength of India-Australia relations, noting their close alignment on strategic issues. “It is a privilege to be here with Kapil Dev at the KHUSHII foundation, witnessing the remarkable work they are doing. The relationship between our nations is at an all-time high, and we have never been more strategically aligned,” Marles stated to reporters.
