Cape Town, Oct 31: South African pacer Kagiso Rabada made headlines during the third Test against Australia at Newlands, achieving a remarkable milestone of 350 Test wickets on Day 5. This accomplishment makes him the fastest bowler to reach this landmark based on the number of balls bowled.
Rabada secured this achievement by dismissing Australian batsman Travis Head while defending a target of 288 runs in this crucial Test match. He tempted Head into a drive with a fuller delivery outside off stump, leading to an edge that was caught by Marco Jansen in the gully, prompting celebrations among the South African team.
With this wicket, Rabada not only reached his 350th Test wicket but also set a record for the fewest balls bowled to achieve this milestone. He accomplished this feat in just 13,808 deliveries, surpassing the previous record held by fellow South African Dale Steyn.
