New Delhi, September 14: The Kabaddi Champions League (KCL) has officially unveiled its second season, promising an enhanced and more competitive experience for fans and players alike.
Following the success of its first season, KCL is excited to introduce two new franchises: the Jind Jaguars and the Kurukshetra Knights. This expansion not only enriches the league's franchise network but also provides a broader platform for emerging kabaddi talent, as stated in a recent KCL press release.
The inclusion of these franchises represents a significant advancement in KCL's mission to establish a robust and sustainable franchise model for kabaddi.
KCL Chairman Balwan Singh expressed enthusiasm about the new additions, emphasizing that they will enhance the league's ecosystem and create more opportunities for players.
“The introduction of Jind Jaguars and Kurukshetra Knights fortifies the KCL ecosystem. This is a positive development for the league and the growth of kabaddi talent. With more franchises, we are providing additional chances for players to compete at a high level and demonstrate their skills,” Balwan Singh remarked.
He also noted the success of KCL's franchise model in nurturing talent, revealing that nine out of twelve players in a recent selection hailed from the KCL league.
“The most significant endorsement of our ecosystem is the players who have advanced through it. Nine out of the twelve players were sourced from this league, highlighting the caliber of talent being cultivated within the KCL franchise framework,” he added.
With the addition of the Jind Jaguars and Kurukshetra Knights, the Kabaddi Champions League now boasts a total of ten franchises.
This expansion injects fresh energy, fosters new rivalries, and attracts new fan bases, while also offering more players the chance to compete on a larger stage, according to the release.
The two new teams will join the existing KCL franchises in the quest for the prestigious championship, making the upcoming Season 2 even more thrilling for players and fans alike.
