Historic Achievement for Jos Buttler

In the opening match of the three-match ODI series against India, Jos Buttler made history by becoming the second England player to reach 200 One Day Internationals (ODIs), joining Eoin Morgan in this elite group. This milestone makes him the first right-handed batsman from England to achieve such a feat. Buttler debuted in ODIs against Pakistan in 2012 and was appointed as England's white-ball captain a decade later. Under his leadership, England secured the T20 World Cup title in 2022. However, the team faced challenges in the 2023 ODI World Cup, finishing at the league stage with only three victories out of nine matches, including a loss to Afghanistan. After the 2025 Champions Trophy, Buttler stepped down from the captaincy but continues to be a key player in the white-ball format. Unfortunately, in his 200th ODI, he scored just five runs, bringing his total to 5520 runs in ODIs and 4212 runs in T20Is.
