Jordan's Heartfelt Gesture After FIFA World Cup Exit
Jordan's Classy Farewell at FIFA World Cup 2026
In a touching display of sportsmanship, the Jordanian football team left their dressing room immaculate after their exit from the FIFA World Cup 2026. Following a 1-2 loss to Algeria, they expressed gratitude by leaving a 'Thank You' note, along with gifts and traditional sweets for the stadium and FIFA staff.
Jordan's journey in the tournament concluded after they lost their opening match to Austria 1-3. Although they have one remaining game against Argentina scheduled for June 28, their chances of advancing are gone, as they are not in contention for the eight spots allocated for the best third-place teams.
A video shared by FIFA showcased the pristine condition of Jordan's dressing room, which featured a box of traditional sweets and gifts left for the stadium staff.

The Jordanian team expressed their appreciation to everyone involved in organizing the tournament, calling their first World Cup experience "truly unforgettable." They acknowledged the "dedication, professionalism, and warm hospitality" they received, leaving behind a taste of their rich traditions.
Algeria, on the other hand, kept their hopes alive for the knockout stage with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Jordan in a Group J match at the San Francisco Bay Area Stadium.
Both teams entered the match eager for a win after their initial defeats. Although early chances were scarce, Algeria gradually gained control of the game.
Jordan struck first against the odds in the 36th minute when Nizar Al Rashdan capitalized on a miscue from Mousa Al Tamari, scoring with a deft finish.
After halftime, Algeria intensified their efforts and equalized in the 69th minute when Nadhir Benbouali headed in from a corner.
Algeria completed their comeback in the 82nd minute when Amine Gouiri scored from close range after a set-piece situation.
This victory marked Algeria's first World Cup win in 12 years, keeping their knockout stage aspirations alive.
For Jordan, this defeat confirmed their elimination from the tournament in their inaugural World Cup appearance, following two consecutive losses.
In Group J, defending champions Argentina lead with six points from two matches, while Austria and Algeria are tied with three points each. Jordan sits at the bottom with no points and has been eliminated.
