England's Squad for T20 World Cup 2026

Centurion [South Africa], January 6: Veteran wicketkeeper-batter Jonny Bairstow is feeling positive about England's prospects in the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2026, which will take place in India and Sri Lanka.

The England cricket team has revealed its provisional 15-member squad for the T20I World Cup 2026, featuring a surprising inclusion of pacer Josh Tongue, who has yet to make his limited-overs debut for the national side.

Harry Brook has been appointed as the captain for the tournament, and the squad includes seasoned players such as Jos Buttler, Adil Rashid, and Jofra Archer.

Currently participating in the SA20 League with Sunrisers Eastern Cape (SEC), Bairstow shared his thoughts on England's performance in the subcontinent and their chances in the T20 World Cup. He emphasized the team's wealth of experience, noting their familiarity with playing in those conditions.

Bairstow mentioned that Jos Buttler, who has excelled in the Indian Premier League, will share his insights with teammates who may not have extensive experience in India or Sri Lanka.

“They have a lot of experience, don’t they? Players like Jos Buttler have been performing exceptionally well in the IPL, and he’ll be passing on valuable knowledge to those who haven’t played as much there. We’ll just have to wait and see,” Bairstow stated during a press interaction.

England's tour of Sri Lanka will feature three ODIs followed by three T20Is, commencing on January 22. The team's T20 World Cup 2026 journey will begin against Nepal on February 8.
