Jemimah commended the resilience displayed by her players, coaching staff, and fans throughout the tournament.

“I couldn’t be prouder of this team. It wasn’t an easy journey, but the character our girls exhibited is something I cherish,” the DC captain stated during the post-match presentation, as reported by a sports media outlet.

She also recognized the hard work of the support staff and the unwavering backing from fans. “The support staff has put in relentless effort for us. A heartfelt thank you to everyone, especially our fans worldwide, for their encouragement,” she added.

Reflecting on the final match, Jemimah believed that Delhi Capitals set a formidable target. “Posting 204 runs in a final is commendable. I applaud our performance,” she remarked. “If there was ever a moment for our team to shine, it was today, and we delivered. Everyone fought valiantly and gave their all, which is what truly matters.”

Despite the disappointment of losing their fourth consecutive WPL final, Jemimah focused on the positives from the 2026 season, particularly the rise of young talent. “The overall assessment has been positive. Starting a tournament strong is beneficial, but the ability to bounce back shows true character,” she noted, highlighting the contributions of young players like Niki, Rana, Nandani, and Minnu. “They showcased the depth present in Indian cricket.”

Royal Challengers Bengaluru made history by securing their second WPL title after overcoming Jemimah Rodrigues’ Delhi Capitals in a thrilling final.

RCB had previously won their first title in the 2024 season.

RCB captain Smriti Mandhana delivered a stellar performance, scoring 87 runs and forming a crucial partnership of 165 runs for the second wicket with Georgia Voll, who contributed 79 runs off 54 balls, enabling RCB to chase down the challenging target of 204 runs.
