Jemimah Rodrigues Returns to Fitness

India's cricketer Jemimah Rodrigues has confirmed her recovery from a hamstring injury that had kept her off the field since August. The injury occurred on August 3 while she was playing for Southern Brave in The Hundred tournament held in Cardiff.

Following evaluations by the BCCI medical team, it was determined that she had suffered a high-grade tear, which led to her missing significant tournaments, including the Women’s T20 Asia Cup in the UAE and the Asian Games in Japan, both of which India won.

The 25-year-old also sat out the recent home series against Zimbabwe, where India achieved a clean sweep in both ODI and T20I formats, winning all three matches.

On Friday, Rodrigues took to Instagram to share the good news about her recovery, stating that her hamstring has been cleared after three months of rehabilitation. Her post expressed her eagerness to return to the game, saying, "Hamstring has been declared fit. After 3 months of rehab. Now I can’t wait to get going."

Rodrigues stands as India's fourth-highest run-scorer in women's T20 internationals, with a total of 2,824 runs at a strike rate of 119. She plays a crucial role in the Indian middle order and has consistently contributed across various formats.

Her last appearance on the international stage was during India's match against Australia at the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in England last June.

Looking ahead, the right-handed batter is set to make her return to international cricket during India's upcoming multi-format tour of South Africa in December, which will include a one-off Test, three ODIs, and three T20Is.
