Indian T20I Squad Announced for Afghanistan Series

On Tuesday, pace bowler Jasprit Bumrah was included in the Indian team for the upcoming three-match T20I series against Afghanistan, pending fitness approval. The selectors have opted for a squad identical to the one that will compete in the Asian Games later this month in Aichi-Nagoya.


India will face Afghanistan in three T20 matches scheduled for September 13, 15, and 17 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, with Afghanistan acting as the host.


The team also includes all-rounders Nitish Reddy, Washington Sundar, and fast bowler Harshit Rana, whose participation is also contingent on fitness assessments.


This squad mirrors the one set to participate in the Asian Games in Japan's Aichi-Nagoya later this month.


Bumrah makes his return after recovering from a knee injury that kept him out of action during India's ODI series in England and the subsequent two-Test series in Sri Lanka.
