Jasmine Shekar Takes Commanding Lead
Noida (Uttar Pradesh) - On March 19, Jasmine Shekar delivered an impressive performance, finishing with a score of 3-under 68, despite encountering two late bogeys. This achievement has positioned her with a three-shot advantage heading into the final round of the sixth leg of the Women’s Pro Golf Tour at the Jaypee Wishtown Golf Course.
Having previously won the season's opening leg, Jasmine started with an even par 71 in her first round. In the second round, she showcased her skills with six birdies and three bogeys, bringing her total to 3-under 139.
Ridhima Dilawari, the only player to have multiple victories this season, maintained her steady play with one birdie and one bogey on the front nine, finishing her last ten holes without any additional bogeys.
In the standings, Neha Tripathi (73-70) and Amandeep Drall (72-72) are currently in third and fourth places, with scores of 1-over 143 and 2-over 144, respectively.
A notable group of seven players is tied for fifth place, all at 3-over 145. This group features Anvitha Narender (75-70), Saanvi Somu (72-73), Shweta Mansingh (69-76), and Khushi Khanijau (68-77), who fell from the lead after a second-round score of 77. Shweta, who was tied for second after the first day, also slipped with a 76 in her second round. Three amateurs, Anuradha Chaudhuri (72-73), Aradhana Manikandan (72-73), and Alysha Dutt (71-74), are also included in this tied group.
Trailing behind are Tvesa Malik (73-76) in Tied-17th and Vidhatri Urs (72-79) in Tied-23rd.
The cut was set at 153, allowing 34 out of the 53 participants to advance to the final round.
Notably, Seher Atwal and Jahanvi Bakshi were among the prominent players who did not make the cut.
