Jammu and Kashmir's Paras Dogra Confident Ahead of Historic Ranji Trophy Final
Confidence Soars for Jammu and Kashmir Team
Hubballi (Karnataka) [India], February 23: The captain of Jammu and Kashmir, Paras Dogra, has expressed strong confidence as his team prepares for their Ranji Trophy 2025-26 final against Karnataka, set to commence on Tuesday.
Jammu and Kashmir secured a remarkable six-wicket win over Bengal in the semi-finals, marking their first appearance in the final of this prestigious tournament.
In an interview prior to the final, Dogra shared that the team is both excited and confident due to their consistent performances. He emphasized that they will not implement any unusual strategies but will continue with the approach that has led them to this point.
"The atmosphere is fantastic. Competing in the final is a unique experience, and all the players have been performing admirably, boosting their confidence. We will stick to our tried-and-true methods that have yielded results over the past two years, avoiding any extraordinary tactics," stated Paras Dogra.
Ajay Sharma, the head coach of the Jammu and Kashmir team, highlighted the importance of instilling belief in the young players. He noted that initially, the focus was more on the IPL and white-ball formats rather than the Ranji Trophy, but victories against formidable teams like Vidarbha have instilled confidence in their ability to compete at a high level.
"These players are young, and when I joined, I encouraged them to trust in their abilities. At first, they seemed more interested in the IPL and white-ball cricket, showing little enthusiasm for the Ranji Trophy, which is red-ball cricket. However, after defeating strong teams like Vidarbha in Nagpur, they began to realize they could compete with anyone," Ajay Sharma remarked.
