ISSO National Badminton Championship 2026-27 Concludes in Noida with Record Participation
Successful Conclusion of the ISSO National Badminton Championship
The ISSO National Badminton Championship for the 2026-27 season wrapped up at Prometheus School in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, showcasing the talents of 590 student-athletes from 106 schools with international curriculums over a five-day event.
Taking place from October 1 to 5, 2026, the championship featured competitions for both boys and girls across U14, U17, and U19 age groups, including individual and team events, as highlighted in an official press release from ISSO.
Prometheus School served as an excellent venue, offering a top-notch environment for the young competitors. The matches were held in the school's air-conditioned indoor badminton hall, which boasts eight world-class courts, ensuring a professional experience for all athletes. Mukesh Sharma, the Founder Chairperson & CEO of Prometheus School, is a dedicated sports advocate, committed to enhancing opportunities for young athletes.

The individual championships showcased remarkable performances across all age categories. Madhav Sharma from Jayshree Periwal Global School clinched the U14 Boys title, while Vanya Choudhary from Prometheus School Noida took home the U14 Girls championship after defeating Shanaya Tak from Rustomjee Cambridge International School Virar in the final. Madhav triumphed over R. Rakshan from The Indian Public School to secure his title.
In the U17 category, Muhammad Ayaan Patel from Fountainhead School emerged victorious in the Boys division, overcoming Pratim Manihar from Witty International School, Mumbai. Manisha Thirukonda Vishnu Kumar from SNBP World School, Pune, won the Girls championship by defeating Chaarvi Petta from The Gaudium School.
At the U19 level, Daksh Gehlot from Rockwoods International School claimed the Boys title after besting Pushkar Shriram from Sanjay Ghodawat International School. Siona Gala from Fountainhead School won the Girls category, defeating Teestha Gaonkar from Oberoi International School, Goregaon Campus.
The team events were equally fierce, with impressive performances across all six categories. Yellow Train School secured the U14 Boys title with a 2-0 victory over Rustomjee Cambridge International School Virar, while the hosts, Prometheus School Noida, won the U14 Girls championship by defeating Mayo College Girls School 2-0.
Fountainhead School emerged as the U17 Boys champion after a 2-0 win against Indus International School Bengaluru, while The Chintels School claimed the U17 Girls title, overcoming The Gaudium School 2-0.
In the U19 category, Rockwoods International School won the Boys team championship with a 2-0 victory over Sanjay Ghodawat International School, and Fountainhead School took the Girls team title after defeating Jayshree Periwal International School 2-1.
