Kishan's Explosive Performance

In New Delhi, former cricketer Priyank Panchal has lauded Ishan Kishan for his remarkable innings and diverse shot selection. Panchal noted that Kishan possesses the ability to both defend and attack effectively against spin bowlers.

Panchal expressed his admiration on social media, stating, "It's no surprise to see Ishan Kishan go all out in the #VijayHazare Trophy. He is explosive, has a wide array of shots, and, unlike many current Indian batsmen, can adeptly handle spin bowling. I see him as a viable option for all three formats for India."

Kishan is making a strong case for selection in the Indian squad ahead of the upcoming ODI series against New Zealand, following his stunning 33-ball century for Jharkhand against Karnataka during a Vijay Hazare Trophy match in Ahmedabad.

This remarkable century is the second-fastest by an Indian in List A cricket, just one ball shy of Bihar captain Sakibul Gani's record 32-ball century achieved earlier the same day against Arunachal Pradesh.

Recently, Kishan was recalled to the Indian team for the T20 World Cup after leading Jharkhand to its first Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy title. He scored a total of 517 runs in the tournament, including a crucial century in the final against Haryana.

In the match against Karnataka, Kishan scored 125 runs off only 39 balls, hitting seven fours and an impressive 14 sixes, achieving a strike rate of 320.51.

During the match, Karnataka won the toss and chose to field first. Jharkhand had a rocky start, losing opener Utkarsh Singh for just eight runs, followed by Shubh Sharma, who was dismissed for 15 runs by Shreyas Gopal.

Shikhar Mohan contributed a solid 44 runs before being dismissed by Abhilash Shetty in the 24th over. Virat Singh and Kumar Kushagra then stabilized the innings, forming a 129-run partnership for the fourth wicket until Kushagra was out for 63 runs.

Singh followed shortly after, scoring 88 runs off 68 balls. Kishan then provided a spectacular finish to the innings with his rapid century, leading Jharkhand to a total of 412-9 in their allotted 50 overs.

In response, Karnataka's opener Devdutt Padikkal delivered a stellar performance, scoring 147 runs off 118 balls, which included 10 fours and seven sixes, enabling his team to chase down the daunting target of 413 runs in just 47.3 overs.

Other notable contributions came from captain Mayank Agarwal (54 off 34 balls), Karun Nair (29 off 27 balls), Ravichandran Smaran (27 off 21 balls), Abhinav Manohar (56* off 32 balls), and Dhruv Prabhakar (40* off 22 balls).
