Ireland Cricket Team Unveils Squads for Upcoming ODI and T20I Series Against West Indies

Ireland Announces 14-Member Squads for West Indies Series
The Ireland cricket team has revealed its 14-member squads for the forthcoming ODI and T20I series against the West Indies, scheduled for June, according to the official ICC website.
Under the captaincy of Paul Stirling, the squads include several fresh faces, such as 22-year-old top-order batsman Cade Carmichael and 24-year-old fast bowler Tom Mayes, both of whom are set to make their international debuts in the ODI format. Additionally, pacer Liam McCarthy has earned his first call-up for the T20I squad.
However, the team will be without seasoned pacer Mark Adair for the ODI matches as he continues to recover from an injury, although he is anticipated to return for the T20I series.
Andrew White, the selector for Ireland's national men's team, commented on the selection process, stating, “Choosing the squads for these series was tough due to the increasing pool of talent in Ireland.”
Regarding the new players, White noted, “Cade Carmichael has been on the radar for several years. His skills, shot selection, and determination were evident during his performances for the Wolves in April. His consistent play and adaptability have earned him this international opportunity. Similarly, Liam McCarthy and Tom Mayes have shown reliability and the ability to elevate their game when needed.”
