IPL 2026: Rain Disrupts Matches as Delhi Prepares for Clash
IPL 2026 Week Two Faces Weather Challenges
The second week of the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) has begun on a challenging note, with matches on Monday and Tuesday being canceled due to rain. The upcoming match on Wednesday (April 8) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi is also at risk, as unseasonal rain has been reported in the capital, which typically experiences intense heat during this time of year. The match between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) was abandoned after just 3.4 overs due to rain at Eden Gardens on April 6. Additionally, the game between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Mumbai Indians (MI) was also affected.
Weather Update for DC vs GT IPL 2026 Match
Fortunately, the weather forecast for Delhi indicates a decrease in rain chances during the evening, dropping to below 15%, and by midnight, the likelihood of rain will be virtually nonexistent. This suggests that the match is likely to proceed without interruptions. However, there is still a 50% chance of rain in the morning.
Delhi Weather Forecast
Cricket enthusiasts are hopeful for clear skies in Delhi, as the remaining week will see matches returning to Kolkata and Guwahati, where rain has already impacted two games. KKR is set to host Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on Thursday (April 9), while Royals will face Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in Guwahati on Friday (April 10). Rain is still in the forecast for both locations in Eastern India. Regarding the DC and GT matchup, it features two teams with differing fortunes this season; the Capitals have secured victories in both their matches against LSG and MI, while the Titans have faced defeats in their initial games against PBKS and RR.
