International Archers Set to Shine in Archery Premier League Season 2
Exciting Line-Up for Archery Premier League
The second season of the Archery Premier League (APL) is gearing up to showcase a remarkable roster of international talent, featuring five Olympic medalists, world champions, and former world number ones alongside India's top archers in Hyderabad.
Among the notable participants are Turkey's Olympic champion Mete Gazoz, Brazil's Marcus D'Almeida, Dutch compound expert Mike Schloesser, Great Britain's Ella Gibson, and Mexico's Alejandra Valencia. Their presence is expected to enhance the competition, which will follow the league's dynamic 15-second shooting format.
Gazoz, representing the defending champions Rajputana Royals, made history as Turkey's first Olympic archery champion at the Tokyo 2020 Games and recently secured the World Championship title in 2023. The 27-year-old, a former world No. 1 and multiple World Cup stage victor, also earned a men's team bronze at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Competing for Chola Chiefs, D'Almeida boasts an impressive recurve archery record. He made headlines as the first Brazilian archer to achieve the world No. 1 ranking in 2023 and has garnered three World Championship medals, including silver in 2021 and 2025, and bronze in 2023. Additionally, he triumphed at the World Cup Final in 2023 and was honored as World Archery's Best Archer of the Year.
The Mighty Marathas will feature Dutch compound star Mike Schloesser, known as 'Mister Perfect,' who made history as the first archer to score a perfect 600 in compound archery. A former world No. 1 and World Champion, Schloesser has also clinched multiple World Cup Final titles.
Rajputana Royals will also include world No. 1 women's compound archer Gibson in their lineup. The British athlete has secured numerous World Cup stage titles and a World Cup Final victory, while holding the world record for a 15-arrow match. Her rapid shooting style is anticipated to be a perfect fit for the APL's fast-paced format.
Valencia will strengthen the Mighty Marathas' recurve team. A three-time Olympian, she has earned bronze medals in mixed team events at Tokyo 2020 and women's team at Paris 2024, along with a silver at the World Championships.
With these five international stars joining India's Asian Games medalists and other prominent domestic archers, Season 2 of the APL promises to deliver a captivating mix of Olympic excellence and global expertise in Hyderabad.
