India Secures Silver in Mixed 4x400m Relay

In Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, on September 24, India's mixed 4x400m relay team achieved a remarkable feat by clinching the silver medal at the Asian Games. Manu TS, one of the team members, expressed immense pride in their performance.

Manu acknowledged the contributions of his teammates and dedicated the medal to his coach. He also extended his gratitude to the Sports Authority of India (SAI), the Athletics Federation of India, state authorities, and the Indian government for their unwavering support.

The Indian team, consisting of Manu TS, Poovamma MR, Vishal TK, and Vithya Ramraj, finished the race with a time of 3:14.46, securing the silver medal in the final.

"We are thrilled with this achievement. It was a fantastic night for our team, and we performed exceptionally well. My main focus was to pass the baton to my teammates in a strong position, and I gave it my all. I am incredibly proud of our accomplishment. This medal is dedicated to my coach, and I want to thank everyone who supported us," Manu stated after the event.

Vishal TK kicked off the race for India, followed by Poovamma in the second leg. Thanks to a strong finish, Manu received the baton in third place and maintained the pace before handing it over to Ramraj, who executed an impressive final leg to secure second place for India. Bahrain's Salwa Eid Nasser dominated the anchor leg, ensuring her team took home the gold.

Ramraj also shared her joy in contributing to India's athletics medal tally, expressing hope for more medals in the upcoming events.

She dedicated her medal to her twin sister, who was missed at the Games, and thanked the Athletics Federation of India and the Government of India for their support.

"I am overjoyed because this marks India's second medal in athletics today, and I hope we can achieve even more in the days ahead. Contributing to the medal tally makes us very happy. I miss my twin sister, who was with me at the last Asian Games. I dedicate this medal to her. If she were here, I would be the happiest person, but since she isn't, I want to honor her with this medal," she remarked.

"I want to express my gratitude to the Athletics Federation of India and the Government of India for their incredible support; they treat us like their own children, and I am truly thankful for everything they have done for us," she added.

As of now, India has amassed a total of 17 medals at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, including one gold, seven silver, and nine bronze.
