India's Historic 40-Day Tour to New Zealand: Full Schedule and Insights
Overview of India's Upcoming Tour
Following the conclusion of IPL 2026, the spotlight will shift from the ten franchises to the Indian national cricket team, particularly with the ODI World Cup 2027 and the World Test Championship (WTC) 2027 on the horizon. The Men in Blue are gearing up for several thrilling bilateral series, with a notable tour to New Zealand scheduled from late October to early December. This tour is poised to set a remarkable record as it marks the longest bilateral series ever hosted by New Zealand.
India's tour will span 40 days, commencing on October 22 and concluding on December 1. The itinerary includes five T20 internationals, five ODIs, and two Test matches. The T20 series kicks off on October 22 and wraps up on November 1, while the ODI series, crucial for preparations ahead of the ODI World Cup 2027, will take place from November 4 to November 15. The Test matches, which represent India's final away challenge in the WTC 2025-27 cycle, are set to begin on November 19 and run until December 1. This tour will be significant as it will be the first time India faces New Zealand on their home turf since 2019, following a 3-0 whitewash in the last Test series held in India in 2024.
