India's Bowlers Shine as They Restrict Ireland to 154 in T20 Clash
India's Bowling Dominance in Second T20
In the second T20 International on Sunday, debutant Prince Yadav showcased his talent by taking three wickets, while Shivam Dube delivered a pivotal double wicket over, helping India limit Ireland to a modest total of 154 for 8.
As Harry Tector (53 runs off 47 balls) and the aggressive Ben Calitz (37 runs off 23 balls) appeared to be building a solid foundation with a 65-run partnership for the fourth wicket, Dube (2/25 in 3 overs) struck twice in consecutive deliveries, significantly hindering the hosts' scoring potential.
Yadav and Arshdeep Singh also contributed effectively, each claiming two wickets.
Dube's first wicket came when he had Calitz caught in the deep, followed by a well-executed off-cutter that bowled Gareth Delany, hitting the top of the off-stump.
Despite Tector's impressive performance, marking his ninth T20I fifty in his 100th match, he struggled to accelerate the scoring.
Axar Patel (0/28 in 4 overs) and Yadav maintained pressure with their disciplined bowling, utilizing a mix of hard lengths and clever variations.
The Irish innings mirrored the first match, where India also took three wickets within the first 50 runs, before the hosts capitalized during the middle overs.
Calitz, who came in at a challenging position with Ireland at 48 for 3, adeptly targeted the bowlers he could attack.
Debutant Suryansh Shedge faced a tough outing, conceding 22 runs in one over as the Irish batsmen took advantage of the shorter square boundaries.
Harshit Rana (1/17 in 3 overs) made an early impact by dismissing Tim Tector, who fell to a pull shot caught at mid-wicket.
Adair attempted to create space against Arshdeep Singh (2/35 in 4 overs), but ended up giving an aerial catch to Tilak Varma at extra cover.
Yadav (3/22 in 4 overs), who recently debuted in ODIs against Afghanistan, dismissed last match's standout Lorcan Tucker (15 off 18 balls) with a sharp short ball caught by Ishan Kishan.
Earlier, Prince had kept Tucker quiet, showcasing his bowling skills.
Captain Shreyas Iyer's strategic bowling changes proved effective, as he utilized both Axar and Dube to great effect.
