Indian Women's Skeet Team Triumphs

The Indian women's skeet team, comprising Raiza Dhillon, Parinaaz Dhaliwal, and Maheshwari Chauhan, clinched the bronze medal at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games 2026 on Wednesday.


With a total score of 331, the team finished in third place in the women's skeet team event.


Both Raiza Dhillon and Parinaaz Dhaliwal scored 111 out of 125, while Maheshwari Chauhan contributed 109 points to the team's overall score.


China took home the gold medal with a score of 346, and Kazakhstan earned the silver medal.


This bronze medal adds to India's growing medal tally in shooting, marking the sixth medal for the country in this discipline at the Games.


Manu Bhaker Advances in Women's 10m Air Pistol

In another highlight, two-time Olympic medallist Manu Bhaker progressed to the individual final of the women's 10m air pistol event, showcasing India's strong performance in shooting, rowing, and canoe sprint on Wednesday.


Bhaker secured her final spot following an impressive qualification round, while her compatriots Suruchi Inder Singh and Esha Singh did not qualify for the medal round.


Rowing and Canoe Sprint Success

In rowing, Balraj Panwar qualified for the men's single sculls final, finishing third in his heat with a time of 6:52.84 seconds, placing him fourth overall across heats.


The men's double sculls team of Satnam Singh and Salman Khan also advanced to the final, finishing second in their heat with a time of 6:15.63 seconds.


In canoe sprint, Harshwardhan Shaktawat, Varinder Singh, L Naocha Singh Oinam, and Arun Singh qualified for the men's kayak four 500m final after finishing third in Heat 1 with a time of 1:29.447.


Megha Pradeep secured a spot in the semi-finals of the women's canoe single 200m heats, finishing fifth, while Parvathy Geetha and Phairembam Soniya Devi advanced to the women's kayak double 500m event.


Table Tennis and Swimming Updates

In table tennis, Harmeet Desai and Yashaswini Ghorpade triumphed over Maldives' Mohamed Ismail and Fathimath Ali in the mixed doubles round 2. Manush Shah and Diya Chitale also progressed by defeating Sri Lanka's Chanul Kulappuwawadu and Bimandee Swarna.


In swimming, Benedicton Beniston finished fourth in his men's 100m butterfly heat, ranking 13th overall, while Sajan Prakash did not start the event. Vedaant Madhavan and Aneesh Sunil finished sixth and fourth, respectively, in their men's 200m freestyle heats, awaiting final qualification confirmation.


Jaswinder Singh and Nitin Kumar finished fourth in the men's pair rowing heats and will compete in Final B, while Gurbani Kaur, Aleena Anto, Tendenthoi Haobijam, and Poonam participated in the women's four rowing heats.
